As the crow flies...
After more than several years, we again have crows living and nesting amongst us. Crows are especially social birds who live within extended family groups are a valuable part of the ecosystem.
Human prejudice blinds us to any respect for that which we don't understand. As consumers of dead and decaying flesh, we have little empathy for the crow.
Their prolonged absence was noticed by many friends since the West Nile Virus first rampaged through Lake County, Summer 2002.
For those who are tuned into our Chicago Wilderness ecosystem. It is a joy to observe and feel a part of nature, somehow clinging to existence in glorious diversity, all within Metropolitan Chicago area.
We must respect and value our place in the circle of life. Understanding and contribution to nature is its own reward; through nature we can be more at ease with our place on this world learning by observation our proper place and to how to act accordingly.
